No sound in Chord Miner

I get no sound when I click the chords.

This is an issue caused by the MIDI capabilities of your system not being set-up correctly.

This situation can arise for a number of reasons.

The following choices are ranked from the most common reasons to the least common reason. Please follow their instructions in order - testing Chord Miner on completion to check whether you've solved the problem.

1. your sound settings
2. faulty sound card drivers
3. a corrupt installation of DirectX
4. a setting in your PC's BIOS

A 'soundcard' is a piece of your computer's hardware that operates as an interface between your audio needs outside the computer (headphones, speakers, MIDI, microphone, etc), and your audio needs inside your computer (CD, system sounds, MIDI, etc). Its ports are usually located on the back of the computer. The term 'soundcard' comes from the fact that these are usually rigid plastic cards that slot into your motherboard. This type of soundcard - one which slots into your motherboard - is what we mean by an 'ISA' or 'PCI' soundcard.

An 'onboard' soundcard is when your motherboard has its own sound capabilities, when the headphone socket, the gameport, the sound processing microchip, etc, are all part of the motherboard itself.
