--------Alternate Fix
You can do this manually as well. Instead of doing the procedure above and going to Start>Run and typing the commands that automate the procedure for you, you can navigate through My Computer to
C:\Windows\System (C:\WINNT\System on Windows NT and 2000), and then find the COMPOBJ.DLL file and interact with it. This is a more time consuming process, but some people like to see what they're working on rather than just sending commands to Windows - so if this is you, follow the instructions below instead.1. Restart your machine in "Safe Mode". Do this by repeatedly pressing the
F8 key after the BIOS has loaded (it doesn't matter if you press it whilst the BIOS is loading, but some machines will beep at you if you do this). 2. Go to
My Computer, then C:\, then Windows (WINNT on Windows NT or 2000), then System and look for COMPOBJ.DLL. Rename the last three letters from DLL to OLD. 3. Restart your computer as normal and install your Music Coach program. Once installed, restart when prompted but go into "Safe Mode" again (
F8 after the BIOS). 4. Go to
My Computer, then C:\, then Windows (WINNT on Windows NT or 2000), then System and look again for COMPOBJ.DLL. The software installation will have installed a new version of this DLL. Delete it. 5. Then, whilst still in this folder, rename the last three letters of
COMPOBJ.OLD from OLD to DLL (this is your original System file). 6. Now restart your computer as normal.
7. Your Music Coach software will be installed and ready to run.
