How to Download and Open a Chord Set

The first thing you need to know about downloading the chord sets from www.chordmine.com is that you can't open them just by clicking on them. Instead you need to browse to them from within Chord Miner. Here are some instructions:

1. Go to the website ( www.chordmine.com ) and select a song.

2. Click the download button and save the file, which will be in named in the form BandnameSongname.zip.

It is useful to create a folder called Zips to put it in e.g. C:\Program Files\Music Coach\Chord Miner\Chord Sets\Zips

2. When the download is complete click "Open". You will then launch the program that your computer uses to "unzip" compressed files (e.g. winzip). This program will ask you where you want to place the unzipped/extracted file. The unzipped file will be called "BandnameSongname.cch"

Choose C:\Program Files\Music Coach\Chord Miner\Chord Sets

If you don't have a program to unzip files you can get WinZip for free by going to:

http://www.winzip.com/downwz.htm

You then click on the link: Download WinZip 9.0 SR-1 Evaluation Version

3. Go back to the Chord Miner program and click

File>Open

and navigate to the folder into which you just extracted the file.
C:\Program Files\Music Coach\Chord Miner\Chord Sets

In here you'll find "BandnameSongname.cch". Select this and then click Open.
