"This quality ICT music software is excellent. The pupils in King's Park Secondary use it on a regular basis. The Guitar and Keyboard programs allow pupils to move at their own pace. They can revisit videos of guitarists (or keyboard players). They can alter the speed of the music as they play it. Pupils can also check chord hand-shapes. Guitarists can check the position of their fingers on the fretboard. Many pupils will only have access to a visiting instrumental teacher who is available once a week. ICT is augmenting the work of that teacher. The quality of practice between individual lessons is being greatly enhanced.

These packages should be used as part of a child-centred learning method of teaching. With teachers taking a music class with a large variety of pupil ability these packages allow for differentiated learning. It is important that the individual guitar or keyboard teacher has a full knowledge of the software and sets the particular area of work to be covered from it. The child must also complete an accompanying worksheet so that progression is maintained and monitored. Using this software can allow an increased speed of learning.

I am delighted with the response of our pupils when using these programs."

"Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. If I hadn't seen it for myself I would never have believed that it was possible to achieve such a high standard of instruction with a piece of software. The skills and techniques it teaches are precisely the ones which help people become true guitar players. The video, especially the view from inside the guitar, makes everything incredibly clear and the overall look of the course is quite beautiful. ... I think anyone who wants to get started or who wants to improve their technique, will get a great deal out of Guitar Coach and I believe that in time, it will be seen as a major leap forward in the way people learn to play the guitar. I thoroughly recommend it to all aspiring guitarists."

“the whole thing works as a tutor, a practice partner and a reference library of moves and exercises"

"This has understandably proved to be very popular because it is a very well-considered guitar course ...there is a great deal of material to work on and this represents very good value. A really well-constructed instrument course such as this really does make the best possible use of the medium and scores heavily over the equivalent book ... All the material is attractively and clearly presented both in visual and musical terms and would apply to classical, folk and electric guitar players."

“This is the best guitar learning software package on the market bar none and it provides the ideal complement to lessons - giving the student plenty of material to practice. It gets the full RGT seal of approval.”
