Once the Student launches a module a typical lesson will contain some or all of the following features.

All Music Coach video is designed to give you the best possible view of what both hands are playing.

Animated Instruments

Fretboard and Strum Hand

Music Coach's animated fretboard and strum hand displays all note positions and fingerings as well as fingerstyle, strum and picking indications.

Unlike other animated fretboards, this one displays real time fret hand finger positioning, as it would be played in reality (as opposed to simply note on and note off). This means that as well as seeing exactly where a note is played, you see how long the finger should stay in place even though the note may have stopped sounding. Keeping fingers in place even when they're not playing in order to prepare for another note is one of the keys to fluent sounding guitar playing.

Keyboard and Roll

The animated Keyboard and Roll shows exactly which notes are being played – right hand in red, left hand in green. Above the keyboard a ‘piano roll’ type animated graphic shows which notes are coming up next, allowing you to prepare yourself.

The Keyboad and Roll is synchronised to the onscreen notation and can be played at any speed you choose. You can also loop a certain part of the score that you are practising.

Real Audio and Record

Music Coach always offers a choice of backing tracks.

You can work with the full band version or with a minus guitar version.

All offer an easy RECORD function and various playback options eg you and band together or you on your own.

Everything you record you can save as an MP3 or WAV.

Variable speed MIDI practice tracks

You can adjust the speed and Mix of the MIDI version to suit you.

If you're just starting to learn a song you may want to slow it down a bit and take out some of the backing instruments or drums so they don't put you off.

Interactive TAB/Notation

All Music Coach Notation is interactive. You can play the media from any note just by clicking on it or set up loops to practise a particular section.
